Peacock Blue

Good morning crafty friends – blimey, it’s a bit chilly here today!!

I’ve got another patchwork card to share today and …

… it’s this one here.
I made it using a single die from the
Tonic Patchwork Perfection Vineyard Squares set.

This one is really elegant and there’s so much you can do with it, but I kept it plain and simple (as per!!).

The dies come with little round corners which make it super easy to line up and the main element was cut from one piece. It all lines up beautifully.

The actual cut of the die literally is perfection.
It’s so intricate but comes out clean as a whistle.

The gorgeous card is from the Brilliant Blues Tonic card packs – I LOVE those colours together.

So I’m done for today.
Enjoy your day whatever you are doing and crafty hugs to all xx

Pretty Pink Patchwork

Good morning crafty friends – hope that the weekend was good to you : )

Did you catch the Patchwork shows? Now this may be me but I think this is one of the best Tonic sets ever ever EVER – I loved using these dies because you can go as plain or as fancy as you want and you still get a stunner of a card at the end of it.

Talking of plain, you probably know by now that I am quite a simple bod so this card is a typical Dawny make,
and …..

… here it is.

For this one I just used the solid heart shape and the sentiment from the Tonic Everyday Squares Patchwork Perfection set.

It’s such an easy card to put together.

All the card I used is from the Tonic card packs – Monochrome and Magnificent Magenta.

The centre element is literally just 1” strips stuck down onto a piece of scrap card and then trimmed and matted onto some pink card. Then I matted and layered some pink and white and topped it with the die cuts.

There’s a lovely embossed edge on the hearts – you can see it here.

This was literally run through my Tangerine once.
If I’d got the green plate and mat out, this would have been even deeper.

The little button is from the Tonic Patchwork Perfection Square Stitch and Emboss set so you can cut your buttons and you know they are going to match your work perfectly.

This is a real generic sentiment and is pretty enough for girliest of cards but you could equally use it for masculine cards well.

The show samples are just wowwzer.
I watched the shows on my tablet when I got back to my hotel room, and I must just say a huge thank you to all the lovely people who stopped by to say hello over the weekend.
You love your Tonic products as much as  we do : )

So that’s my card done and I can’t wait to see what you do when you get your dies home.

Have a lovely crafty day and hugs to all xxx

Boogie Shoes

Hi there crafty friends.

I’ve got another card that I’m sharing today which I made for the last Nuvo show and …

602N_CARDSAMPLE14_1000_RGB

… here it is.

Now this one is a real sparkler.

I made the background by sticking strips of DST onto some black card, removing the backing tape and dousing with silver Nuvo Pure  Sheen Glitter. I quite like this technique – you may have noticed!! – and it works well for Christmas as well so I expect I’ll be repeating this at some point in the not too distance future lol.

602N_CARDSAMPLE15_1000_RGB

The sentiment is one from the Girls Night Out range and it’s Let’s Party, minus the ‘Let’s’. I cut three from white card and glued them together then added some white Nuvo embossing powder. I heated it up and then added another layer while it was still hot. This was stuck onto the card using a Tonic Glue Gun – it’s perfect for sticking anything onto a glittery surface.

 604N_CARDSAMPLE16_1000_RGB

The shoes are from the Nuvo Exquisite Prom Princess set of stamps and this was stamped onto some red Tonic Heated Hues card and embossed with Jet Black Nuvo embossing powder. Then I carefully cut them out and stuck them down as well.

Finally I added a bow.

Thank you for stopping by today and I’ll be back with another make soon as soon.

Enjoy the rest of your day and crafty hugs to all xx

A Bit of a Twist : )

Good morning crafty friends and I hope that the weather is better where you are than it is here right now!!

I thought I’d share a card I made using the brilliant new Nuvo pens and one of the images from Tonic Studios Exquisite It Girl & Prom Princess set.

I’ve also used some other things – more in a sec!!

603N_CARDSAMPLE6_1000_RGB

So this is the card.

It’s a very simple card but the colours really stand out I think. I used the pens to colour the image and I know that some of you like to know which colours so these are what I used -

Skin - 389, 473, 474,  475

Hair – 389, 461, 463, 465

Clothes – 425, 427, 429

Grounding - 485

I stamped her onto Bristol Board using Memento ink in Tuxedo Black.

The dies I used are the ever so fab (and one of my Tonic faves) Trellis Base Circles. The main one is the largest inside edge cut straight onto the card base and an outside edge cut from Tonic Essential Card Pack – Brilliant Blue, and this was stuck down on the inside of the card base.

Then I cut another 2 using the medium sized outside edge,  one in white (to stamp on) and one using some Tonic A4 Mirror Card – Metallic Gloss BUT I actually used the tiny bit that is left after you’ve done your cut.

You can see it a little better ……

603N_CARDSAMPLE11_1000_RGB

… here.

I really like the way it makes the image stand out.

The ribbon actually started out as plain white satin but a quick dab of Nuvo pen 427 and it was transformed. I also used the pen to colour the sentiment which is from Tonic Studios Expressions Sentiment Set - Live, Love, Treasure, Laugh – 368E. I cut 3 of the ‘love’ in white and glued them together and then coloured them in.

But that’s not all.

I covered it with some Nuvo Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.

Can you see the little gold eyelets in the pic above?
Well they're not really eyelets, they are actually Metallic Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops. I just added a drop to alternate holes in the die cut and it sinks in but just enough to make it look like eyelets.

I will be doing this again for sure.

So that’s me done and I’ll see you back here very soon.

Enjoy your day and happy crafting xxx

Bright & Zingy

Good morning crafty friends and I hope you are all getting ready for the bank holiday : )

I thought I’d share a card today that I made using one of the brand new Tonic Studios birthday sentiment dies – I think these just fabulous.

So ….

1057E_CARDSAMPLE15_1000_RGB1

.. here’s my card.
I used one of the Birthday Script dies and I think this set has to be a crafty stash staple because I can’t think of anybody that this wouldn't work for, male, female young or old.

I made the base using the outside edges from the largest Topnote Trellis die and the top element was cut from one of the Elegant Drape Idyllics dies which I then topped with the sentiment die. The little red star is the smallest from the Layering Star set.

See the red spotty paper? Well it isn’t paper at all – it’s actually red card with white die cut circles on it. The card I used is the new Tonic Essentials card and the red is from Heated Hues, the white from Monochrome  and the blue from Brilliant Blues. I am utterly smitten with this stuff – it’s amazing quality (you would expect nothing less) and the colours are fabulous.

Also, if you have the new Nuvo pens, the colours work perfectly with them. I LOVE it when it all coordinates.

Finally, the little black dots are Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black.

So that’s me done for today. Enjoy the long weekend, yayyy, and I’ll be back soon.

Crafty hugs,

Dawny xx

Party Time : )

Good morning crafty friends.

The card I’m sharing a card today uses the brilliant Let’s Party sentiment die.
I really like this die because it can be used for so many occasions – well, just about as many occasions as you can have parties and that's a LOT of parties : )

I stuck with my fave black and white and red colour combi here because I wanted the words to really jump off of the card. But you could easily adapt this for other occasions by simply changing the colours : )

I die cut  out the words – 4 in red and 6 in black. Then I chopped off the ‘lets’ before gluing the ‘party’ words together in sets of two. I also glued together 3 of the chopped off ‘lets’ but more of that in a tick.

I added Ruby Red Nuvo Glitter to the red sets using a wide Nuvo Glue Pen, then I stuck them all down onto the card. A top tip here is to start at the top and bottom, then add the middle and finally fill in the gaps. That way you are more likely to get an even spacing.

I then added some Pearl White Nuvo Crystal Drops to the black words – it really makes a huge difference to the look of the card just by adding a few of these.

Now back to the 3 ‘lets’ that were glued together. I glued them to the top of the card so that they stuck out then finished off with a big bright bow and a little button.

So that’s me for today.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you like my party card.
Enjoy the rest of your day and crafty hugs to all,

Handy Handbags: )

Good morning craft friends and I hope that you are all OK today.

The cards I’m sharing today aren’t cards at all.
They are sweet bags which I made using the beautiful Chelsea Shoulder Bag die.

Now I can promise you that when your die arrives, you will not want to put it down, these are very VERY addictive.

Not only are they addictive to make but they are super easy to use and put together as well, and as you might expect, very versatile too.

So ….

… this is the first one.

I actually used fabric to make this and it cuts like a dream.
What you need to do is get some iron on interfacing or bonder and iron it on the reverse of the fabric – don't use the steam setting on the iron – then you are just about good to go. Place the fabric side against your cutting plate and the die on top of the interfacing and run it through the machine.

I used the outside edges only here.
The fabric had different shades so I used the lighter shade for the flap and the darker for the body of the bag.

I cut the same outside edges using card and just stuck the fabric pieces on to them. It could not have been quicker to make.

I used Velcro to fasten the bag and the clasp is just a button I found – I just cut the shank off and glued it on with a hot glue gun.

The second bag  …..

… is this one here – very different but again it’s easy peasy.

This fabric is a very sheer and again I used the iron on backing. It gives a lighter look as you can see the backing through the fabric but I didn't mind at all.

This time, I used plain card for the sides and the corners and I covered them with some Nuvo Charcoal Glitter.

Again I used Velcro to fasten and I added a button and a bit of white tulle. Then to finish off, I went around the edges with some Nuvo Pearl White Crystal Drops.

I am sooo going to make some more of these. Don't you think they would look fabulous as a holder for those little plastic gift cards you buy in the supermarkets? I hate just shoving them inside a card!!

So that’s today’s share and I hope you like them. I have made one using card which I’ll show you next time.

Have a lovely day and a great weekend and crafty hugs to all,

Killer Heels

Good morning everybody and wasn't it a hot one yesterday - phew!!!!!

It’s a bit less humid this morning which is all good : )

The card I’m sharing today is another one from yesterday’s POTD and this one features the GORGEOUS Rococo Lace Stiletto die. I would LOVE a pair of shoes like this but sadly I wouldn’t be able to walk in them : (

I cut the die out of black card and I embossed it – the detail is lost in these photos as the card is dark,  but the embossing is amazing. Then I stuck them down onto red card and undercut them. I added some  Nuvo Ruby Red Glitter to the little flowers on the front and added a little gem. Then I stuck a length of black ribbon to the back and glued it down onto the striped background, which is 1” strips of black and white card glued onto a scrap of white card then matted onto red card.

Check out those heels – wow!!!

And I just printed out the sentiment – you can add anything you like.

I finished it off with a red bow and black button and some contrasting Ebony Black and Pearl White Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Have a fabulous day and crafty hugs to everybody,

Girls’ Night Out

Good morning crafty friends  and isn’t it a lovely day today?

It’s going  to get even better because there is a brand new POTD on Ideal World tonight at 9.00pm, and if you like all things girlie, then you are in for a treat!!

The new launch is called Girls' Night Out and there are six sentiments, the most beautiful 3D handbag die to make a gorgeous little gift box  - perfect for gift cards and little treats - plus 4 small and 2 large Rococo dies.

So this is what I did and it’s my first card for this launch.

I used the Ladies Night sentiment and added some Nuvo Glitter – Gold and Diamond – and some Copper Crystal Drops. It’s really foxy and sassy and I LOVE it : )

I also used the Celebrations Header Die to cut out  a panel then added a bit of animal print ribbon – easy peasy.

I hope you like my card and thank you for stopping by today.
Enjoy the show later and have a fabulous day.

Pretty Pink Heart

Good morning crafty friends and I hope that you are having a lovely week so far.

The card I’m sharing with you today is special because it’s actually for somebody – often my card aren’t, but this one is.

So ….

… here is is.

It’s another quick and simple card and I’ve used the old and the new(ish) here.

The older die is the Tonic Studios Affections Insert Die – On Mother’s Day – and I  just cut the largest inside edge  into a piece of white card which I then layered onto some pink before sticking to my card base.

I then used some of the Heart Stamp and Dies Sets and the pink heart in the centre is cut using the outside edge from the Paisley set, then I cut another one exactly the same in white and added the inside edge from the Floral set

I LOVE how all of these sets works so well together.

A bit of pretty here.

I went around the edge with some Nuvo Pearl White Crystal Drops then added a sprinkling of Candy Pink Nuvo Glitter. I also used the Nuvo Glue pens on part of the heart design and added a bit more there.

Once again I have used one of the tail parts of the Large Lacy Bow set to stamp my sentiment onto.

And a pretty little sparkly made with some hot glue and Candy Pink Glitter : )

So that’s my card for today and thank you for stopping by.
Enjoy the rest of your day, whatever you’re doing, and crafty hugs to all,

Dawny xx

A Super Speedy Little Make :)

Good evening crafty friends.
I’ve had a really busy day today between my day job and our baby chicks, so I’m a bit late putting this post on – but better late than never I suppose : )

I have another card to share using the awesomely versatile Topnote and Petunia Trellis die sets,

and …

… it’s this one here.

This is such a simple, quick and easy card to put together and you could make this work for just about everything I reckon – even the sentiment is generic.

I made the base card using the largest outside edge from the Topnote set.
I cut 2 out, made a little fold across the top of 1 of them, added some tape then stuck them together.

Then I used the smallest inside edge from the Petunia Trellis set, taped it to the front of the card base then ran it through the machine. The beautiful pattern then remains in the card. I cut out the largest outside edge from black card and stuck that down behind the pattern. You could substitute this by adding an insert if you wanted.

Then just a circle cut from black card using the largest of the 2 Petunia circles and a white one cut from the smallest circle and these went into the centre using dimensionals. Then a little helping of Ebony Nuvo Crystal Drops around the edge of the pattern – don’t you just love how they shine.

Finally a little sentiment stamped onto a tail cut from the Large Lacy Bow set, a heart button and a double bow and that, my crafty friends, is that.

It probably took longer for me to type this out than to put the actual card together : )

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you’ve all had a lovely sunny day.

Crafty hugs,

Pretty In Pink

Hello crafty friends and it’s another sunny morning here in Chester.
Whatever is it coming to – we’ve had sun 3 days in a row now!!!

So after the masculine card yesterday, I thought I’d even it up a bit and share one which is a bit more girlie, and ….

… it’s this one here.

I made this card up when I was demoing at Bolton and I used creams and whites, and I was quite pleased how it turned out. So I made it up again using pinks : )

I used one of my fave EVER Tonic Studios Dies and this is the beautiful Deco Oval Trellis set.
The base card is an 8x8 and it’s cut  to just over 5 1/2” wide, and I added a pink mat using dimensional pads. Then I cut a slightly smaller piece in white and using the largest inside edge, I ran it through the machine, then stuck it down onto the pink mat, again using dimensionals.

Then I cut another piece from white card using both the outside and inside edges, added some Nuvo Diamond Glitter around the edge using a Nuvo Glue Pen, then I stuck it down onto the card, lining it up carefully with the pattern underneath.

Finally I cut another in pink from the smallest outside edge and added that, again using dimensionals.
You may have guessed that I love building up layers!!

I made some little blooms using the flower elements from the Entwining Trellis Plush Peony Die set.

For the 2 largest flowers, I cut one in white and another from pink using the largest flower die, then I used tweezers to gently curl the edges back before running a ball tool over them to bring the petals up. Then I layered them together. I cut another in white using the second smallest flower and then ran the ball tool over it and then stuck it down.

I made one more using the second largest and the smallest flower dies, which I stuck down onto a bow I’d  made.

Next I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Pearl White to the edge of the centre pink mat and also the centre of each bloom.

Finally I cut a small oval using one of the elements from the Tent Gift Bag Die Set, stamped a sentiment onto it then stuck it down.

And that’s the card all done.

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy the sunshine.

Crafty hugs to all,

Dawny xx

Ready… Steady …. Kraft : )

Good morning lovely crafty friends and I hope that you are OK today.

I’m sharing a card I made today which uses the lovely new Topnote Trellis Die set, as well as some old favourites of mine.  I love how all these dies work so beautifully together.

This one is more masculine which is a bit of change from my usual girlie cards : )

I made the base card using the largest outside edge from the Topnote set.
I cut 2 out, made a little fold across the top of 1 of them, added some tape then stuck them together.

The centre panel is made using one of the centre dies from the Garland Fancy Idyllics set and the sentiment is from another Idyllics set – Delicate Drape.

You can see it here.
This has has one pass only  through the machine, and I didn’t even have to use my embossing mat or plate – fabulous!!

Some beautiful Ebony Nuvo Crystal Drops ……

…. some string, buttons and and lots of dimension, and it’s finished.

You could easily convert this into a girls card by swapping the papers, using ribbon rather than the string and using a different colour card for your base.

Thank you for stopping by and have a lovely day.

A Brand New One

Good afternoon crafty friends.
Have you been enjoying the shows on Create & Craft?

I thought I’d share one that I made that didn't make it down to Jodie in time but which uses the new dies from the shows, and …

…it’s this one here which uses that ever so gorgeous Petunia Trellis Die set.

I made the base using the larger outside edge and folded it in half so that the 2 petals were even across the bottom. Then I added one of the elements from the Thinking Of You set before topping it off with  the smaller outside and inside edges from Petunia and the 2 small circles.

The flower was made using the larger of the small Petunia circles.
I just cut three of them cut one round off then joined then together to make as spiral shape before rolling up. I ran a Nuvo Glue pen over it then sprinkled it with Diamond Nuvo Glitter.

Those pretty leaves are from the Flora Frames Topper Set – I use these loads because they are a nice size and really sweet I think.

A little tail from the Large Lacy Bow Die Set - a perfect base for your stamped sentiments : )

And there’s my card all done.
I hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your day and crafty hugs to all xx

It’s A Bright One : )

Good morning crafty friends and I hope that you are having a lovely sunny day today.

Talking of which, the card I’m sharing today is bright and sunny and zingy. I’ve used the new Petunia Trellis Die set and some Nuvo Diamond Glitter which is the POTW (I believe they may have sold out so whoop whoop if you managed to get any because they are FABUOUS).

So enough of my waffle, let’s have a look at the card, and you may need your shades  ….

… and here it is in all its funky glory : )

This is such an easy card to put together and there’s dimension in bucket loads here, but if you’re not a fan or you are concerned about the posting then you could just make this flat.

So what I did was to cut the outside edge from lime green card and then I ran a Nuvo Glue Pen around the outer edge and added the Diamond glitter. The pen makes it really easy to get a nice even line. Then I cut the outside and inside edges from white card and I cut from one of the inner points into the centre and overlapped the petals. I put some silicone glue into the centre  and stuck down the orange and green centre circles from the set.

The rolled rose was made by cutting a circle in green then rolling it up. I swiped the edges with the Nuvo Glue Pen and added a bit more Diamond Glitter for good measure.

You could use this for most occasions – you’d just need to change the colours and/or sentiment really.

I hope you like the card and thank you for stopping by today.

Enjoy your weekend and crafty hugs,

Dawny xx

Black & White & Red all Over :)

 Good morning crafty friends x

Today we have a brand new POTW on Create & Craft and as well as the beautiful Glitters and Crystal Drops, there are 2 utterly gorgeous new trellis die sets. So I have a little sneakie peekie here for you and .....

...here it is.

I used the new Petunia Trellis Die set, and I added a Frond Finesse flourish and a sentiment from the Happy Birthday Topper set.

The card base I used is 8x8 so it's  fairly big card but the dies will also fit on your 6x6 cards as well.

After I cut the largest outer edge using black card, I added Pearl White Crystal Drops all over it and once
dry I then layered up the smaller white one and the 2 smaller circles from the set.  The card I'm going to share tomorrow shows another way of using these lovely circles.

I finished it off with a button and bow, and some Ebony Black Crystal Drops on either
side for balance.  I LOVE how shiny these are : ) I hope you can tune in and catch the shows and bag yourself these lovely dies.

Have a lovely crafty day and hugs to all xxx

Sunshine and Paper Strips :)

Good morning crafty friends and I hope that you are all OK today.
The sun is shining and there's blue sky - maybe summer is on its way?

Well OK,  maybe the sunshine won't last but I've got a nice bright sunshine-y card to share today,
and .....

...it's this one here.

For this card I used the Tonic Studios Deco Geometric Layering dies - I LOVE the shape of these dies, I really do.

To get the striped effect, I cut 1" strips pf paper and glued them down onto a piece of thin card stock. Then once it was all dry, I die cut the shape using the second largest die in the set. The mat behind it was cut using the largest die.

It's a great way to use up those strips of patterned paper that we all have lying about our craft rooms (or is that just me??)

For the sentiment, I used the tail part of the Tonic Studios Large Lacy Bow set.
They are perfect for making fishtails to put your sentiments on.

.... see what I mean?

I  curved the tail so that it stood out on the card - I do like to add dimension don't I lol!!!

So that's my card for today and I hope that you like it.
Enjoy your day whatever you are doing and crafty hugs to all.
